Preface

This is the first edition of CSA B45.11, Glass lavatories. It is part of the CAN/CSA-B45 Series-02, Plumbing Fixtures.

In addition to B45.11, the CAN/CSA-B45 Series consists of (a) CAN/CSA-B45.0, General Requirements for Plumbing Fixtures; (b) CAN/CSA-B45.1, Ceramic Plumbing Fixtures; (c) CAN/CSA-B45.2, Enamelled Cast-Iron Plumbing Fixtures; (d) CAN/CSA-B45.3, Porcelain-Enamelled Steel Plumbing Fixtures; (e) CAN/CSA-B45.4, Stainless Steel Plumbing Fixtures; (f) CAN/CSA-B45.5, Plastic Plumbing Fixtures; (g) CAN/CSA-B45.6, Nonrecirculating Toilets and Waste-Holding Tanks for Use in Recreational Vehicles; (h) CAN/CSA-B45.7, Self-Contained, Recirculating, Chemically Controlled Toilets for Use in Recreational Vehicles; (i) CAN/CSA-B45.8, Terrazzo Plumbing Fixtures; (j) CAN/CSA-B45.9, Macerating Systems and Related Components; and (k) CAN/CSA-B45.10, Hydromassage Bathtubs.





1. Scope

1.1 This Standard applies to lavatories made of glass.

1.2 This Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with the applicable requirements in Clauses 7 and 14.3 of CAN/CSA-B45.0.

1.3 In CSA Standards, "shall" is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; "should" is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; "may" is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the standard; and "can" is used to express possibility or capability.

Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material.

Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements. Annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.
