Fire-fighting hoses - Non-percolating layflat delivery hoses and hose assemblies for pumps and vehicles; Amendment A1

The standard contains Amendment A1 on specifications for fire hoses of fire brigades.*Non-percolating layflat delivery hoses for fire fighting purposes serve to convey fire extinguishing media. When empty, such hoses can be rolled or folded flat. The modification of the January 2008 standard edition of DIN 14811 has become necessary in order to adjust the technical content to the changed conditions. In order to focus on the modifications, NA 031-04-04 AA has decided not to publish the entire content of DIN 14811:2008-01 including the modifications, but to publish this A1 separately. A consolidated new version will be published in due course. Modifications have been made in the foreword, clause 1 Scope, 4.1 General information on classification, 5.3.2.2 Binding wire, 5.3.2.3 Binding means, 6.1.3 Minimum burst pressure, 6.2 Adhesion, 6.6 Flame resistance, clause 7 High pressure layflat hoses for high pressure pumps, clause 9 Marking, 10.1 Type test 10.2 Inspections, Annex C Hose assembly test, Annex F Surface abrasion resistance test, Annex I Flame resistance test, Annex J Ozone resistance test and Annex M Periodic testing and repair of hose assemblies. A better reproducible test method has been introduced in particular by changing the flame resistance test. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-04 AA "Schläuche und Armaturen - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 1 und WG 8" ("Hoses and armatures - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 1 and WG 8") at DIN.
