Laboratory tests for determination of soil density (Foreign Standard)

The document applies to all soils which have a solid bonding or from which geometrically regular blocks may be taken without influencing the density. The test is used in soil and foundation engineering. The determination of density serves to assess the building properties of a soil and is essential to calculate the proportion of pores as well as the saturation value. The specific weight of soil calculates from the density is used as basis value for earth-static calculation methods.
