Bolted connections with waisted shank - Part 2: Metric thread with large clearance - Nominal dimensions and limits of size

This document specifies nominal dimensions and limits of size for external threads and tolerance classes for internal threads, for bolted connections with waisted shank intended for tensile fastening methods, for nominal diameters in the range above 11,2 mm up to and including 180 mm (see DIN ISO 965-1). The limit dimensions are designed for nuts with a nut height of m=1×d (see DIN 2510-5). Bolted connections with waisted shanks are particularly suitable for constructions subjected to changes in force and temperature during operation (machines, pipelines, turbines). This document only includes fine threads in accordance with DIN ISO 965-1 for the nearest smaller pitch. Applicability on other fine threads depends, on a case-by-case basis, on the intended assembly preload and the materials of the parts to be fastened.
