Protective caps for pipe fittings with welded and threaded ends


This standard applies to protecting caps for pipe fittings with welded or threaded ends. The protecting caps are especially used during shipping and storage to seal the fittings against the ingress of foreign matters and to protect the blace of attachment from damage. This standard does not apply to protecting caps for fittings with flanged connections (refer to DIN EN 12351).*This standard applies to protective caps for pipe fittings with welded or threaded ends. The protective caps are used in particular for shipping and storage to prevent foreign bodies from penetrating and to protect the thread and connection surfaces from damage. This standard does not apply to protective caps for pipeline parts with flange connection (see DIN EN 12351). This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 003-01-11 AA "Armaturen für die Prozessindustrie" ("Valves for the process industry") at Standards Committee Valves (NAA) at DIN.
