DIN 529:2010

Masonry and foundation bolts

This standard specifies the dimensions and technical terms of delivery for threaded masonry bolts as well as their designation.*This document has been prepared by the Fasteners Standards Committee (FMV), Working Committee NA 067-03-08 AA "Verbindungselemente mit Sonderformen und aus Kunststoff" ("Fasteners with special elements and made of plastic"). This standard applies to masonry and foundation bolts with threads M8 to M72 x 6. They are designed for use for instance in masonry, concrete foundations and the like. The shape of the shank section is optional in the case of the maximum dimensions specified (space requirement dimensions). Some of the customary types of shank have been given as examples, together with the relevant dimensions and symbols. The resistance to stripping has not been specified since it depends largely on the material into which the bolts are to be embedded. The proofloads (loadbearing capacity) of property classes 4.6 (up to and including M39) as specified in DIN EN ISO 898-1 apply to bolts prior to assembly.
