Both the movement of persons with these facilities, as well as staying under stationary and moving loads are allowed. This standard applies to facilities with guided and unguided carrying or lifting devices. Exemplary mechanical equipment list: - Lighting and Oberlichtzug; - Lighting storm moved; - Projection screen (hand-and machine-operated); - Mobile stage podium; - Stage carriage; - Turntable and disc; - Airframe (flight equipment); - Free rides, slides and cassettes; - Investment horizon; - Orchestra pit; - Movable bridge assembly; - Mobile portal system; - Prospect camp podium; - Prospektzug (hand-and power-operated); - Hoist; - Hall podium; - Tiltable stage floor; - Side and Hinterbühnentor; - No verse direction. This standard also applies to safety-related systems that serve the immediate threats and defenses used in a comparable threat in the aforementioned establishments. Exemplary list of safety systems: - Smoke extraction device; - Curtain. This function has the appropriate safety priority. This standard applies to equipment with new technologies and custom that are not specifically named, but are used in an identical operation. This standard does not apply to: - Mechanical equipment to be used as an artistic device and - Free trains (payload of 20 kg). This standard also addresses the information to be exchanged between producers and users and the required information about the intended use of the mechanical equipment. The significant hazards covered in this document are identified in Section 4.*This Standard contains safety requirements according to the Gesetz über technische Arbeitsmittel und Verbraucherprodukte (Geräte- und Produktsicherheitsgesetz (GPSG)) ("Equipment and Product Safety Act (Technical Aids and Consumer Products)"). This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 149-00-05 AA "Maschinen" ("Machinery") at the Entertainment Technology, Photography and Cinematography Standards Committee (NVBF) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V. Representatives of the Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung (DGUV) (German Statutory Accident Insurance) have been involved in the preparation as staff of NA 149-00-05 AA. This standard applies for machinery installations in areas of congregation as well as in meeting locations and production sets for scenic presentations. Business premises of this type are, for example, theatres, multi-purpose and exhibition halls, film, television and broadcasting studios, stage and playing areas in the following structures: - concert halls, -schools, - exhibitions, - bars, - discotheques, - open air theatres, and - rooms for shows, events, cabarets, vaudevilles. Machinery installations are plants and equipment used for operation in meeting locations and production sets used for lifting and lowering, holding and driving of loads (for example, decorative parts, spreader beams, lighting and image-related as well as audio technical equipment). Both the movement of persons with these installations as well as being present underneath static and moving loads is permitted. This standard is applicable for installations with guided and unguided lifting elements and load lifting attachments. List of examples of machinery installations: - spot bars and overhead light bar hoists, - lighting tower, movable; - projection screen (manually operated and machine-driven); - plateau, movable; - boat truck; - revolving stage and turntable; - flying equipment; - stage cut slider and pusher device; - cyclorama track; - orchestra pit elevator; - catwalk stage, movable; - portal system, movable; - scenery storage; - fly bar hoist (manually operated and power driven); - point hoist; - plateau; - inclinable stage floor; - side and rear stage shutter; - lowering mechanism. This standard also applies for safety systems which are intended to avert imminent dangers and which are used at comparable danger in the aforementioned locations. List of examples of safety systems: - smoke extraction device; - protective curtain. In this context, the corresponding safety function takes precedence. This standard also applies for devices with new technologies or one-off productions which are not specifically referred to in this standard but which are used for identical operations. This standard does not apply for: - machinery installations which are used as artistic equipment and - mobile flying equipment (working load 20 kg). This standard also deals with the information which shall be exchanged between manufacturer and user as well as the necessary tasks for the intended use of machinery installations. The significant hazards dealt with in this document are identified in clause 4. This standard is a summary of previous individual standards for product groups according to the scope and specifies concrete design measures for machines within the scope of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and for those outside the scope of the Machinery Directive. It is a standard on machine safety and designed in line with CEN Guide 414 and has the character of a type C standard. The purpose of the standard is to ensure a uniform safety level for planning, construction, execution, maintenance and testing of machinery installations in meeting locations and production sets for scenic presentations, taking into account the special operational modes. Thus this standard also contains verifiable criteria for tender and testing of machinery installations.
