Cylindrical shanks made of hard materials for machining tools - Dimensions

This document specifies the dimensions of cylindrical shanks made of hard materials for machining tools. Specifications on the material and design of the cylindrical shank are contained in the standards on the corresponding machining tools. NOTE The cylindrical shanks according to DIN 6535 differ considerably from those according to DIN 1835-1: — For the smooth shank Form HA the tolerance field h6 (not h8) is specified. — For strength reasons and to enable the design with cooling channels, the depth of the lateral driving surface or the inclined clamping surface is smaller than in DIN 1835-1. — For a better stability of the tool and a limitation of the axial adjustability, the cylindrical shank with inclined clamping surface with diameter6mm to 20 mm receives acylindrical shank end.
