Iron and steel - Determination of the conventional depth of hardening after surface heating

This European standard defines the test method for the determination of the conventional depth of hardening after surface heating. The depth of hardening is determined from the profil of hardness from a cross section nornal to the surface. It is calculated graphically on a curve representing the variations of this hardness as a function of the distance from the surface of the piece.
