Copper and copper alloys - Rod for free machining purposes; German version EN 12164:2011 (Foreign Standard)
This European Standard specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for copper alloy rod, in the shape of circles, squares, hexagons or octagons, finally produced by drawing or extruding, especially intended for free machining purposes. The sampling procedures and the methods of test for verification of conformity to the requirements of this European Standard are also specified.*The standard DIN EN 12164 specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for copper alloy rod finished by drawing or pressing and intended for free machining purposes. The sampling procedures and the test methods for verification of conformity to the requirements of this standard are also specified. The standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of the EC Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 133 "Copper and copper alloys" (secretariat: DIN). Regarding German collaboration, the responsible Committee is Working Committee NA 066-02-04 AA "Strangpress- und Zieherzeugnisse" ("Extruded and drawn products") at FNNE.
