This European Standard specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for forging stock of copper and copper alloys. The sampling procedures and the methods of test for verification of conformity to the requirements of this European Standard are also specified.*The standard DIN EN 12165 specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for copper and copper alloy forging stock. The sampling procedures and the test methods for verification of conformity to the requirements of this standard are also specified. The standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of the EC Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC. The European Standard has been preparedby CEN/TC 133 "Copper and copper alloys" (secretariat: DIN). Regarding German collaboration, the responsible Committee is Working Committee NA 066-02-04 AA "Strangpress- und Zieherzeugnisse" ("Extruded and drawn products") at FNNE.
