DIN EN 12168:2011
Copper and copper alloys - Hollow rod for free machining purposes; German version EN 12168:2011 (Foreign Standard)
This European Standard specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for copper alloy hollow rod, finally produced by drawing or extruding, specifically intended for free machining purposes. NOTE Hollow products having an outside diameter greater than 80 mm, and/or a wall thickness less than 2 mm, are specified in EN 12449. The sampling procedures, the methods of test for verification of conformity to the requirements of this European Standard, are also specified.*The standard DIN EN 12168 specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for hollow copper and copper alloy rod finished by drawing or pressing and intended for free machining purposes. Hollow rods having an outside diameter greater than 80 mm, and/or a wall thickness of less than 2 mm, are specified in DIN EN 12449. The sampling procedures and the test methods for verification of conformity to the requirements of this standard are also specified. The standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of the EC Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 133 "Copper and copper alloys" (secretariat: DIN). Regarding German collaboration, the responsible Committee is Working Committee NA 066-02-04 AA "Strangpress- und Zieherzeugnisse" ("Extruded and drawn products") at FNNE.
