DIN EN 312:2010
Particleboards - Specifications; German version EN 312:2010
This European Standard specifies the requirements for resin-bonded unfaced particleboards. The values listed in this standard relate to product properties but they are not characteristic values to be used in design calculations. Additional information on supplementary properties for certain applications is also given. This standard does not give requirements for Oriented Strand Boards (OSB); these are set out in EN 300. This standard does not apply to extruded particleboards.*This European Standard specifies the requirements for resin-bonded unfaced particleboards, which have been manufactured by flat press method or calendaring method. This standard does not apply to extruded particle boards and flaxboards. DIN EN 14755 or DIN EN 15197 is applicable here. The harmonized standard DIN EN 13986 for use in construction and CE marking refers to this standard. The values listed in this standard relate to product properties; they are not characteristic values to be used in design calculations. This standard distinguishes between 7 types of boards. Board of Type P1 to P3 are intended for general, non-load-bearing purposes, for instance for furniture and interior fitments. Boards of Type P4 to P7 are intended for use in design and construction of load-bearing or stiffening building elements, for instance walls, flooring, roofing and I-beams. Regarding DIN EN 312:2003-11, new thickness ranges have been included and some values for bending strength, modulus of elasticity and thickness swelling have been modified. However, these modifications do not affect any boards which are intended for load-bearing purposes whose characteristic values for structural design are given in DIN EN 12369-1. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-02-15 AA "Holzwerkstoffe - Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 112 und ISO/TC 89" ("Wood-based panels - Mirror Committee for CEN/TC 112 and ISO/TC 89") at DIN.
