Automotive fuels - Diesel - Requirements and test methods; German version EN 590:2009+A1:2010 (Foreign Standard)


This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for marketed and delivered automotive diesel fuel. It is applicable to automotive diesel fuel for use in diesel engine vehicles designed to run on automotive diesel fuel.*This document (EN 590:2009+A1:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 19 "Gaseous and liquid fuels, lubricants and related products of petroleum, synthetic and biological origin", the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands). The responsible National Committee is NA 062-06-32 AA "Anforderungen an flⁿssige Kraftstoffe" ("Requirements for liquid fuels") at standardization committee for petroleum, fuels, lubricants and related products of Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for marketed and delivered automotive diesel fuel. It is applicable to automotive diesel fuel for use in diesel engine vehicles designed to run on automotive diesel fuel. It shall also be noted that in addition to the purposes listed in the scope of this European Standard, diesel fuel may also be used for similar engines, for instance in rail vehicles, boats for inland waterways, and emergency power generators. This DIN EN 590 edition implements all changes required by the Directive 2009/30/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009.
