Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts - Existing lifts - Part 80: Rules for the improvement of safety of existing passenger and goods passenger lifts


Existing lifts, providing they are properly maintained, are considered safe to an acceptable level for people who are familiar with the installation. With regard to other users, this standard enables each existing lift to be audited and safety measures to be identified and implemented in a step by step and selective fashion according to the risk priority and severity.
