Stationary training equipment - Part 4: Strength training benches, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; German version EN 957-4:2006+A1:2010 (Foreign Standard)

This part of EN 957 specifies safety requirements for stationary strength training benches and free-standing barbell racks used to perform exercises during use in addition to the general safety requirements of EN 9571 and should be read in conjunction with it.This part of EN 957 is applicable to stationary training equipment type benches (type 4) (hereinafter referred to as benches) with the classes S, H and I.*DIN EN 957-4:2006+A1:2010 amends DIN EN 957-4:2006-09, which specifies safety requirements for stationary strength training benches and benches with free-standing barbell racks during use, in addition to the general safety requirements of EN 957-1 and should be read in conjunction with it. This part of EN 957 is applicable to stationary training equipment type benches (type 4) of the classes S, H and I. DIN EN 957-4 is part of a series which deals with stationary training equipment. European Standards of this series are the following: - Part 1: General safety requirements and test methods; - Part 2: Strength training equipment, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 4: Strength training benches, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 5: Pedal crank training equipment, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 6: Treadmills, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 7: Rowing machines, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 8: Steppers, stairclimbers and climbers - Additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 9: Elliptical trainers, additional specific safety requirements and test methods; - Part 10: Exercise bicycles with a fixed wheel or without freewheel, additional specific safety requirements and test methods. This European amendment has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 136 "Sports, playground and other recreational facilities and equipment", Working Committee WG 4 "Stationary training equipment", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany). At DIN the responsible German Committee is Working Committee NA 112-01-04 AA "TrainingsgerΣte" ("Training equipment") of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee (NASport).
