Ships and marine technology - Identification colours for the content of piping systems (ISO 14726:2008)

This International Standard specifies main colours and additional colours for the identification of the contents or function of piping systems on board ships and marine structures. These colours can also be used for piping systems in drawings and diagrams. This International Standard does not apply to piping systems for medical gases, industrial gases and cargo. This International Standard may also be used for land installations.*This standard specifies main colours and additional colours for identifying the content or function of pipes on ships and marine structures. The colours specified in this standard can also be used for piping systems on drawings and diagrams. The previous edition DIN EN ISO 14726-1:2001-12 "Ships and marine technology - Identification colours for the content of piping systems - Part 1: Main colours and media" only contains the main colours used to indicate a group of similar media. This standard specifies both the main colours and additional colours. Additional colours are necessary in those cases where a distinction has to be made between pipes marked with the same main colour, for example blue for water, but carrying different types of medium, for example a pipe carrying potable water (marking: blue-green-blue) and another pipe carrying condensate (marking: blue-yellow-blue). The International Standard ISO 14726 has been prepared by ISO/TC 8/SC 3/WG 1 "Ships and marine technology - Piping and machinery - Identification of colours", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. At DIN, the responsible Working Committee is NA 132-05-03 AA "Kennzeichnungen" ("Designations") of NSMT.
