Valves with atmospheric vacuum breakers

This standard establishes an acceptable protocol for verification of performance and materials toxicity requirements for valves incorporating an atmospheric vacuum breaker device (Valve). Valves covered by this standard are intended for cold water installations requiring an integral anti-siphon device to prevent house water contamination when installed per the manufacturer's instructions. In cold climate areas, backflow assemblies and devices shall be protected from freezing by a method acceptable to the Administrative Authority.
