Lighting Practice: Lighting for Sustainability

Sustainable lighting design is defined as “meeting the qualitative needs of the visual environment with the least impact on the natural environment." This update of ANSI/IES LP-10 focuses on best practices in four main areas: Sustainable Lighting Design in Practice, Life Cycle, Material Health, and Frameworks for Considering Sustainability Goals. Included in this edition is an overview of sustainable building rating systems, product labels and declarations, corporate responsibility programs, and initiatives for social and environmental justice pertaining to the lighting industry.
