This is the only industry-consensus standard for Requirements and Acceptance of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies. IPC and the Wire Harness Manufacturers Association (WHMA) teamed to develop the significant updates being added to Revision B, covering lead-free acceptance criteria, electrical and mechanical testing, and greatly enhanced criteria and illustrations for molding and potting. Revision B will have 650 full-color pictures and illustrations. Included in the 19 chapters are criteria for wire prep; soldering to terminals; crimping of stamped, formed and machined contacts; insulation displacement connectors; ultrasonic welding; splicing; connectors; molding; marking; coaxial/biaxial cables; wrapping/lacing; shielding; assembly and wire-wrap terminations.
