Space data and information transfer systems -- Data systems -- Lossless data compression

This International Standard specifies the requirements for lossless data compression in space data and information transfer systems. The purpose of this document is to establish common requirements for a source-coding data-compression algorithm applied to digital data and to specify how these compressed data shall be inserted into source packets for retrieval and decoding.

The scope and field of application are furthermore detailed in subclauses 1.2 and 1.3 of the enclosed CCSDS publication.
