Shipbuilding and marine structures -- Deck machinery -- Towing winches for deep sea use

Specifies the characteristics of towing winches having electric, hydraulic, diesel or steam drive, which fulfill the functions of hauling, veering, holding and storing towing rope on drum(s). Does not consider fibre rope handling gear but does not exclude its use.
