Road vehicles - Thermoplastics tubing for use in air braking systems - Part 1: Dimensions and marking


This part of ISO 7628 specifies the dimensions and marking for thermoplastics tubing for use in air braking systems on road vehicles.

The tubing defined in this part of ISO 7628 belongs to two possible categories:

  • tubing for use up to a maximum working pressure of 1000 kPa1);
  • tubing for use up to a maximum working pressure of 1250 kPa1);

and within a temperature range of − 40 °C 2) to + 100 °C.

Coiled tubing for use between tractors and trailers is not covered by this part of ISO 7628.

ISO 7628-2 deals with installation on the vehicle and test requirements.

1) 1 kPa = 10−2 bar

2) Reduction of the lower temperature limit will be considered for a future revision of this part of ISO 7628.
