NACE Standard RP0392-2001

Recovery & Repassivation after Low pH

Presents guidelines for preparing for, recovering from, and repassivation after low pH excursions (for mild steel) in open recirculating water systems. Provides examples of problems that can occur as a result of an inadvertent reduction in pH because of acid overfeed, process leaks, or airborne acid gases and then addresses preplanning, recovery, and repassivation.
