Testing of Embeddable Impressed Current Anodes for Use in Cathodic Protection of Atmospherically Exposed Steel-Reinforced Concrete

This test method is used to evaluate whether an embeddable anode material complies with minimum required specifications of design life expectancy at rated current output. This is in regards to the cathodic protection of atmospherically exposed steel-reinforced concrete. It covers the preparation of three different solutions for testing, the test apparatus, the test procedure, parameters for anode failure, and how to report test results. Tables are included detailing typical results of testing in each of the three solutions. This standard is maintained by Task Group (TG) 472.
