NECA 5-2022
Recommended Practice for Prefabrication of Electrical Installations forConstruction
NECA 5-2022 is the first ANSI approved standard on Prefabrication in Electrical Construction. With electrical construction still in the early stages of industrialization, the industry needs a standard that will enable tacit knowledge transfer, ultimately leading to improvement in time, cost, quality, and safety to the electrical construction industry and its consumers. Through extensive work by one of the industry’s top subject matter experts, Dr. Perry Daneshgari, and MCA Inc., NECA is proud to announce they can now meet that need with the new National Electrical Installation Standard (NEIS); NECA 5. The use of this recommended practice will help electrical contractors facilitate increased usage and quality outcomes of many types of prefabricated electrical installations, as a means of establishing and maintaining competitive advantages and overcoming short-term challenges such as labor shortages, fast-paced projects, increases in project complexity, limited space for work and worker logistics on-site as well as improved alignment of work.
