NECA 726-2026
Standard for Installing and Maintaining Class 4 Fault-Managed Power (FMP) Systems
NECA 726 establishes the industry’s first installation and workmanship standard for Class 4 Fault-Managed Power (FMP) systems—an emerging technology that is transforming how power is safely delivered in commercial and industrial environments. As adoption of FMP systems accelerates, this NEIS standard provides contractors with clear, practical guidance for proper installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance. The standard covers the complete installation process, including transmitters, receivers, Class 4 cabling, labeling, and system programming. It also addresses electrical safety practices, receiving and handling procedures, documentation requirements, and long-term maintenance considerations to ensure reliable performance throughout the system’s lifecycle. By defining consistent installation practices for this new technology, NECA 726 helps contractors deliver high-quality, safe, and dependable Class 4 systems while reinforcing the workmanship standards that define the NEIS series.
