This document specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the interpretation, installation, testing, maintenance and safety of extinguishing gas extinguishing systems in buildings, production facilities, or other structures and characteristics of the different extinguishing agents and their suitability for certain fires. This document describes currently sufficient room protection systems for buildings, equipment and other special applications, where electrically non-conductive, gaseous extinguishing agents are used, leave no residue after use and the many data are available, so that a validation of their behavior and their safety characteristics by an appropriate, independent competent authority is possible.
