Drilling and foundation equipment - Safety - Part 1: Common requirements

This European standard determines the common security requirements for drilling and start-up work. Part 1 of this European standard deals with the significant hazards in connection with devices for drilling and start-up work if, as intended, and under the conditions of the misuse that are reasonably predictable by the manufacturer, which are connected to the entire lifespan of the machine (transport, assembly , Disassembly, gets into operation and out of operation, maintenance, movement at the place of use, storage, put out and scrapped). This document contains safety requirements for all types of drilling and start-up work and must be used in connection with one of the parts 2 to 7. These machine-specific parts do not repeat the requirements from part 1, but replace or add requirements for the type of the relevant device for drilling and start-up work. For multi -purpose devices, the parts of the standard are used, which include special functions and applications, if e.g. B. a drilling device is also used as a ram, the corresponding requirements from EN 16228-1, EN 16228-2 and EN 16228-4 are used. The following machines are excluded from the scope of this standard: - Tunnel construction machines, tunnel boring machines without a shield and stagnated shaft drilling machines for rock accordingly EN 16191; - breakout drilling machines; - drilling devices used in the oil and gas industry; - Specialized mining machines and equipment for open -cast mine (e.g. rock drilling devices, explosive hole drills) (in the scope of CEN/TC 196); - All mining machines for use and equipment to obtain solid mineral substances (e.g. rock drilling devices, break -in drilling machines, shaft drilling machines, snail drilling machines, drilling wagons) as well as machines and equipment for developing underground mines (in the area of CEN/TC 196); - core drilling machines on stands (covered by/from EN 12348); - Handled machines (especially machines covered by/from ISO 11148-5). If a device for drilling or start-up work in paved configuration, the separation of which is not intended, is mounted on a carrier that stands on earth construction machines, agricultural devices or cranes, the entire structure must be covered by this standard. Devices for drilling and start-up work within the application area of EN 16228, parts 1 to 6, can contain interchangeable additional equipment, which is covered by the area of application of the EN 16228-7, either as an integrated part of the device or as an interchangeable attachment. If it is planned to use the machine for drilling and start-up work in an explosive environment or if there is a risk of flash loads, additional requirements must be met that does not be treated in this document. This document does not apply to devices for drilling and start-up work that were manufactured before the publication date of this document.
