ONORM EN 16228-2:2022

Drilling and foundation equipment - Safety - Part 2: Mobile drill rigs for civil and geotechnical engineering in soil or soil and rock mixture

This European standard, together with part 1, deals with all significant hazards for mobile drilling devices for civil engineering and geotechnical engineering in earth or a mixture of earth and rock if they are intentionally and under the conditions of the misuse, which are reasonably predictable by the manufacturer and with the whole Lifespan of the machine are used. The requirements in this part apply in addition to the common requirements placed in EN 16228-1: 2014+A1: 2021. This document does not repeat the requirements of EN 16228-1: 2014+A1: 2021, but complement or replace the requirements for the use of mobile drilling devices. In this document, the general term "mobile drilling device" includes several different types of machines for the following use: - civil engineering; - Geotechnics (including soil investigations, anchoring, flooring, setting mini piles, soil stabilization, pressing/injection); - fountain building; - Geothermal plants; - Deponie earry; - underpinning and tunnel construction; - for use for days as well as underground. The drilling process usually requires the addition of drilling pipes, pipes, pipes or drilling snails, etc., usually with thread, since the borehole expands in the depth. The following machines are excluded from the scope of this document: - Tunnel construction machines, tunnel boring machines without a shield and stagnated shaft drilling machines for rock according to EN 16191; - breakout drilling machines; - drilling devices used in the oil and gas industry; - Specialized mining machines and equipment for open -cast mine (e.g. rock drilling devices, explosive hole drills) (in the scope of CEN/TC 196); - All mining machines for use and equipment to obtain solid mineral substances (e.g. rock drilling devices, break -in drilling machines, shaft drilling machines, snail drilling machines, drilling wagons) as well as machines and equipment for developing underground mines (in the area of CEN/TC 196); - core drilling machines on stands that are covered according to EN 12348; - Handled machine (especially machines that are covered according to ISO 11148-5). This document does not apply to mobile drilling devices for civil engineering and geotechnical application in earth or a mixture of earth and rock that were manufactured before the release date.
