Drilling and foundation equipment - Safety - Part 4: Foundation equipment

This European standard, together 1, deals with all significant threats to devices for start -up work if they are used as intended and under the conditions of the misuse, which are reasonably predictable by the manufacturer and are connected with the entire lifespan of the machine. The requirements in this part apply in addition to the requirements placed in EN 16228-1: 2014+A1: 2021. This document does not repeat the requirements of EN 16228-1: 2014+A1: 2021, but complement or replace the requirements for the use of devices for start-up work. In this document, the general term "Device for start -up work" includes various types of machinery, which for installation and/or pulling ramming elements by drilling (machines with a torque over 35 KNM), ramming, vibration, pulling or combining techniques or on Other ways are used for: - elongated start -up elements; - Equipment improvement by vibration and ground mixing techniques; - Vertical drainage. Machines with one or more of the following properties are not covered by this standard, but from EN 16228-2: 2014+A1: 2021: - Machines with a torque of the main turning head of less than 35 KNM; - Machines with possibility to drill in several directions; - Machines in which the installation/drawing process usually requires the adding and removal of drilling linkages or drilling and excavation tools. The process of the founding techniques usually includes the installation of elongated ramming elements such as concrete piles, steel beams, pipes and sheet piling, injection components such as pipes and hose lines as well as pipes for location concrete.
