Industrial valves - Metallic check valves
This document sets out the general requirements for metal backflow preventers with cast or forged housing or housing in through form, corner shape or with slanted upper (see EN 736-2), flange or clamping connections, butt welding ends, welding sleeve ends or thread ends. This document applies to metal backflow preventers used in all industrial applications. Additional requirements of the respective application standards may apply to reflux preventers used for more specific applications (e.g. water management, chemical and petrochemical process industry, gas distribution). Sanitary reflux preventers and reflux preventers to prevent contamination by reflux do not fall within the scope of this document.
