Specification and qualification of welding procedures for production welding of steel and nickel-base castings (ISO 11970:2025)

This document specifies how a welding procedure specification (WPS) is qualified for the production welding of steel castings. It is envisaged that the tests will be carried out in accordance with this document, unless the contracting authority or the contracting parties have specified additional tests. This document specifies the conditions for carrying out welding process tests and the limits of the validity of a qualified welding process for all practical welding operations in the area of the essential influencing variables. This document is applicable for arc welding of steel castings. The principles of this document may be applied to other fusion welding processes, subject to an agreement between the contracting parties.
