Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials - Welding procedure test - Part 2: Arc welding of aluminium and its alloys (ISO 15614-2:2025)
This document specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification is qualified by welding procedure tests. This document applies to production welding, repair welding, and surfacing. This document defines the conditions for carrying out the welding procedure tests and the scope of welding procedures for all practical welding activities within the qualification of this document. This document applies to the arc welding of wrought and cast aluminum materials and their alloys. In this document, the term aluminum is used to refer to aluminum and aluminum alloys. This document does not apply to the production welding of cast aluminum materials, which is covered in ISO 15614-4. Arc welding of aluminum includes the following welding processes according to ISO 4063: 131 - Metal inert gas welding with solid wire electrode (MIG welding); 141 - Tungsten inert gas welding with solid wire or solid rod filler metal (TIG welding); 142 - Tungsten inert gas welding without filler metal; 15 - Plasma welding. The principles of this document may be applied to other fusion welding processes.
