Plastics - Polyamide (PA) moulding and extrusion materials - Part 1: Designation system and basis for specifications (ISO 16396-1:2022)

This document determines a designation system for polyamide (PA) form masses that can be used as the basis for specifications. With the help of a division system, polyamide shape mass types are differentiated from one another, which on suitable values of the characteristic properties a) viscosity number, b) train module, c) Nucleiering additive, and on information about the composition, the intended use and/or the processing procedure, important properties , Additives, colored agents, as well as filling and reinforcement substances. The designation system is applicable to all polyamide homopolyers, copolymers and mixtures. It is to be applied for ready -to -use unmodified materials and for, for example by colored agents, additives, fillers, reinforcement substances and polymer modifiers, modified materials. This document cannot be applied for the following materials: - Monomeric cast polyamides of PA 6; - Monomere cast polyamides from PA 12. It should not be assumed that forms with the same designation also have the same performance behavior. This document does not contain any technical data, performance information or data on processing conditions that may be necessary to specify a form. If such complementary properties are necessary, they can be determined as far as possible according to the test methods specified in ISO 16396-2. In order to specify a thermoplastic material for a specific application, 5 additional requirements can be mentioned in the data block.
