Thermal spraying - Zinc, aluminium and their alloys - Part 1: Design considerations and quality requirements for corrosion protection systems (ISO 2063-1:2017)

This document specifies requirements for the protection of iron and steel surfaces against corrosion by applying thermal sprayed metallic layers of zinc, aluminium and their alloys. This document sets requirements for the planning of the corrosion protection system and the design of the device to be protected when thermal spraying as a procedure for the application of metallic corrosion protection is provided. Some subject-related basic terms are defined and information on the corrosion behavior of zinc and aluminium materials under different environmental conditions. Characteristic properties of the layer, such as thickness, minimum bond strength and surface finish, are exactly specified and defined test methods for thermally sprayed coatings of zinc, aluminium and their alloys. This document applies to the application of thermally sprayed zinc and aluminium protective coating...
