Petroleum and related products from natural or synthetic sources - Determination of distillation characteristics at atmospheric pressure (ISO 3405:2019)
This document establishes a laboratory test procedure using both manual and automated test equipment to determine the distillation process of low-boiling fractions and medium distillates derived from petroleum and related synthetic or biological products with a distillation start above 0 °C and a distillation endpoint below about 400 °C. Low-earthing fractions are usually petrol, gasoline-ethanol mixtures with an ethanol content of up to 85% (V/V) and aircraft fuels. Medium distillates are usually aviation turbine fuels, kerosene, diesel, diesel with fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) levels of up to 30% (V/V), heating oil and marine fuels which do not have significant residue levels.
