Unfired pressure vessels - Part 501: Acoustic emission for pressure vessels (CEN/TS 13445-501:2018)
This document is intended for the application of acoustic emission testing of metallic pressure equipment during the controlled load. Therefore, the overall objectives of this document are:-detect, locate and rank areas with developing irregularities; -the manufacturer to provide the means, the results of the first test with which the subsequent regular audits to compare; -Determination of the possibilities and limits of AE testing (acoustic emission testing, en: acoustic emission testing, AE testing or AT) for pressure equipment; -Creation of a common basis for the procedures for the implementation of noise emission tests (AT), taking into account the special characteristics of the devices to be tested; -Definition of criteria, features and classes that are essential for the evaluation of the test results; -Suggest follow-up activities for consideration.
