(1) This document serves as a guide for the development or improvement of rules intended to assist in selecting an appropriate glass configuration for protection against injury and falls. These rules are hereinafter referred to as “the Specifications”. The specifications to be written or revised may be a national rule, a national standard, recommendations of a professional organization, requirements for a specific project, etc. (2) This document deals with the selection of fracture behavior (see 5.2) in relation to the safety of people with regard to - the risk of injury in the event of a collision with a glazed component, e.g. B. a partition, - the risk of falling through or over a glazed component, e.g. B. a balustrade and - the risk of accidental falling of glass fragments, e.g. B. overhead glazing, on people who did not cause the glass to break. This does not exempt you from providing evidence in accordance with CEN/TS 19100 1 and CEN/TS 19100 2, and if necessary in accordance with CEN/TS 19100 3. (5) There is no protection against burglary, vandalism, attacks with firearms, explosions, the effects of fire and earthquakes Subject of this document. Further appropriate measures must be taken to avoid these risks. (6) This document is not applicable to the following glass products: - glass blocks and concrete glasses; - Profiled glass.
