Luminaires -- Part 1: General requirements and tests (IEC 60598-1:2014, modified + A1:2017) (english version)
This Part 1 of IEC 60598 specifies general requirements for luminaires containing electric light sources for operation on supply voltages up to and including 1 000 V. The requirements and the associated tests of this standard apply to: classification, inscriptions, mechanical and electrical construction and photobiological safety. Each major section of this Part 1 applies together with this Main Section 0 and the other applicable main sections to which reference is made. Each part of IEC 60598-2 describes the requirements for a particular type of luminaire or group of luminaires for operation on supply voltages up to 1 000 V. These parts will be published separately to facilitate their revision. Likewise, more major sections will be added if needed.
