Steel, Corrosion Resistant, Bars, Wire, and Forgings 12Cr 8.5Ni 1.2Ti 2.0Cu Vacuum Induction Plus Vacuum Consumable Electrode Melted Solution Heat Treated, Precipitation Hardenable

This specification covers two grades of a premium aircraft-quality, corrosion-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and forging stock. These products have been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance and high strength up to 800 \mDF (425mDC). The steel can be precipitation hardened to minimum tensile strengths up to 225,000 psi (1550 Mpa). Certain design and processing procedures may causes these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking after heat treatment; ARP 1110 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
