Sunscreen products - Evaluation and classification (FOREIGN STANDARD)

Specifies procedures for determining the performance of sunscreen products in terms of their mean protection factors. It gives test methods for both broad-spectrum and water-resistant sunscreen products, as well as detailed labelling requirements. This edition increases the maximum SPF that may be claimed on the label of a product, recommends that any sunscreen with a label protection factor greater than 15 should also be broad spectrum. It gives measurement limits for the solar simulator output and includes a formula for a higher SPF reference sunscreen product.
