11 Scope
11.1 This standard applies to electrical installations of buildings, such as the electrical installations of the following buildings and similar facilities:
a) Living buildings;
b) Commercial building;
c) Public buildings;
d) Industrial buildings;
e) Agricultural and garden building;
f) Removable building;
g) Camping-cars, camping places for camping-cars and similar places;
h) Construction sites, exhibitions, bazaars and other temporary facilities;
i) Yachts and their harbors.
11.2 Electrical installations which fit in this standard include:
a) Power circuits with a nominal voltage not exceeding alternating current 1000 V or not exceeding direct current 1500 V.
The preferred frequencies of alternating current considered in this standard are 50 Hz, 60 Hz and 400 Hz, but other frequencies are not excluded if they are used for special purpose;
b) Circuits for the electrical appliances with a working voltage exceeding 1000 V, whose power is from installations with a voltage not exceeding alternating current 1000V, such as power circuits for discharge lamps and power circuits for electrostatic precipitators. The internal wirings of electrical appliance are excluded;
c) Any wiring system and cable which is not clearly included in standards for appliances;
d) All user installations outside buildings;
e) Fixed wirings (excluding internal wiring of electrical appliance) which are for communications, signals, control and similar use;
f) Parts which electrical installations have renovated or expanded and existing parts of electrical installations which are affected by the process of renovation and expansion.
11.3 This standard does not apply to:
a) Electric traction equipment;
b) Electrical equipment of automobiles;
c) Electrical installations for ships;
d) Electrical installations for airplanes;
e) Lighting installations for public roads;
f) Electrical installations for mine shafts;
g) Equipment for suppressing radio interference (excluding equipment which have effects on the safety of installations);
h) Electric fence;
i) Thunderbolt protection equipment of buildings.
11.4 This standard does not take into account:
-public electric distribution systems, or
-power generation and transmission of public electric distribution systems.
11.5 This standard only takes into account the selection of electrical equipment and their application in installations.
This aspect also applies to components of complete electrical equipment which fit in relevant standards.
