This standard specifies the safety rules for the construction and installation of electric lifts used for passengers, sickbeds, and cargos in order to prevent passengers from being injured and to prevent cargos from being damaged when the lifts are in operation. This standard applies to electric passenger lifts, sickbed lifts, and cargo lifts with traction or positive drive. This standard is applicable to lifts for the miscellaneous articles and hydraulic lifts.
