IFI-100/107:2002

Prevailing-Torque Type Steel Hex and Hex Flange Nuts Regular and Light Hex Series

This standard establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements for three grades of prevailing-torque type steel hex nuts in sizes No. 4 thru 1-1/2 in., and two grades of prevailing-torque type steel hex flange nuts in sizes 1/4 thru 3/4 in.

IFI-525:2007

Test Procedure for the Prevailing-Torque Performance of Metric Chemical Coated Screws

This standard establishes a conformance test procedure for the performance of metric adhesive coated prevailing-torque screws in nominal thread diameters M3 thru M20 inclusive.

Torque values given in this standard are conformance requirements for adhesive coated prevailing- torque screws and apply only to the combination of test conditions described in the performance test procedure (Para. 5.1). If the conditions of the actual service application differ from those of Para. 5.1 (e.g., length of thread engagement, class of internal thread tolerance, different coating on screw or mating part) the torque values may differ. Such values can only be determined through testing the prevailingtorque screw in its actual assembly.

This standard is not concerned with dimensional features such as head styles, or with other mechanical or performance capabilities such as strength properties, corrosion resistance, sealing, suitability for use in high or low temperatures, and/or consistency of torque-to-tension relationships during assembly. Such features and properties are covered in other standards and specifications, and must be referenced when specifying an adhesive coated prevailing- torque screw to ensure that all of the service conditions of the particular engineering application are properly met.

Test Procedures for the Performance of Nonmetallic Resistant Element Prevailing-Torque Screws

This standard establishes a conformance test procedure for the performance of Nonmetallic Resistant Element Prevailing-Torque Screws (REPT screws), in nominal screw sizes No. 0 thru 1« in.


IFI-101:2002

Torque-Tension Requirements for Prevailing-Torque Type Steel Hex and Hex Flange Nuts

This standard covers torque-tension requirements for two types of plating: 0.0002/0.0004 in. thickness electrodeposited cadmium plated and lubricated Grades B and C prevailing-torque type steel hex nuts in sizes 1/4 to 1 in., inclusive, and Grades F and G prevailing-torque type steel hex flange nuts in sizes 1/4 to 3/4 in., inclusive; and 0.0002/0.0004 in. thickness electrodeposited zinc clear chromate and lubricated Grades B and C prevailing-torque type steel hex nuts in sizes 1/4 to 1 in., inclusive, and Grades F and G prevailing-torque type steel hex flange nuts in sizes 1/4 to 3/4 in., inclusive.


IFI-112:2007

High Performance Thread Rolling Screws

This standard covers requirements for high performance thread rolling screws suitable for use in engineering applications. High performance thread rolling screws have performance capabilities beyond those normally expected of other standard types of tapping screws.

It is the intent that all types of high performance thread rolling screws shall meet the mechanical and performance requirements specified in this standard with the only difference between types being in their dimensional characteristics.


IFI-145:2002

Hex Flange Nuts and Large Hex Flange Nuts

This standard provides the dimensional requirements for inch hex flange nuts from the nominal thread size #6 through 3/4 inches, and large hex flange nuts from nominal thread size 1/4 through 5/8 inches.


IFI-555:2005

Test Procedure for the Performance of Nonmetallic Resistant Element Prevailing-Torque Nuts - Metric Series

This standard establishes a conformance test procedure for metric nonmetallic resistant element prevailing-torque nuts with specified prevailing-torque requirements, in nominal sizes M4 thru M20 intended for application temperatures of - 45øC to 120øC. Both partial (less than 360ø) and full circumference (360ø) element designs are included.
