ANSI/NACE Standard MR0103/ISO 17495-1:2016

Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries - Metallic materials resistant to sulfide stress cracking in corrosive petroleum refining environments

Establishes material requirements for resistance to SSC in sour petroleum refining and related processing environments containing H2S either as a gas or dissolved in an aqueous (liquid water) phase with or without the presence of hydrocarbon. This International Standard does not include and is not intended to include design specifications. Other forms of wet H2S cracking, environmental cracking, corrosion, and other modes of failure are outside the scope of this International Standard. It is intended to be used by refiners, equipment manufacturers, engineering contractors, and construction contractors.

This standard describes general principles and gives requirements and recommendations for the selection and qualification of metallic materials for service in equipment used in oil and gas production and in natural gas sweetening plants in H2S-containing environments, where the failure of such equipment can pose a risk to the health and safety of the public and personnel or to the environment.


ANSI/NACE TM0284-2016

Evaluation of Pipeline and Pressure Vessel Steels for Resistance to Hydrogen-Induced Cracking

This standard establishes a test method for evaluating the resistance of pipeline and pressure vessel steels to HIC caused by hydrogen absorption from aqueous sulfide corrosion.



NACE No. 3/SSPC-SP 6

Commercial Blast Cleaning. Reaffirmed in 2006.

This joint standard covers the use of blast cleaning abrasives to achieve a defined degree of cleaning of steel surfaces prior to the application of a protective coating or lining system. The focus of this standard is commercial blast cleaning, which removes all visible oil, grease, dust, dirt, mill scale, rust, coating, oxides, corrosion products, and other foreign matter, leaving staining or shadows on no more than 33% of each unit area of surface. The requirements presented include the end condition of the surface and materials and procedures necessary to achieve and verify the end condition. This standard is maintained jointly by the SSPC and NACE Task Group 006.


ANSI/NACE No.13/SSPC-ACS-1

Industrial Coating and Lining Application Specialist Qualification and Certification

Provides criteria for the education, training, experience, knowledge, and skills required of an Application Specialist to prepare and apply protective coatings. This standard may be used for certification of Application Specialists for other substrates or conditions, as considered appropriate by facility owners, contractors, or certifying agencies.

Surface Preparation of Concrete

This joint standard details requirements for surface preparation of concrete by mechnical, chemical, or thermal methods prior to the application of bonded protective coating or lining systems. It contains inspection procedures, acceptance criteria, and tables detailing the methods of surface preparation and surface properties of finished concrete. This standard is jointly maintained by SSPC and NACE Task Group 417.



NACE Standard TM0497-2012

Measurement Techniques Related to Criteria for Cathodic Protection on Underground or Submerged Metallic Piping Systems

This standard test method provides descriptions of the measurement techniques and cautionary measures most commonly used on underground and submerged piping other than offshore piping to determine whether a specific criterion has been met at a test site. This standard contains instrumentation and general measurement guidelines. It includes methods for voltage drop considerations when structure-to-electrolyte potential measurements are made and provides guidance to minimize incorrect data from being collected and used. This standard is maintained by Task Group 020.


NACE TM0172-2015

Determining Corrosive Properties of Insoluble Petroleum Product Pipeline Cargoes

This standard provides a procedure for conducting a test to determine the corrosive properties of gasoline and distillate fuels in preparation for transport through a pipeline. Also included is information on test specimen preparation, equipment, and a system for rating the test specimens. This standard is maintained by Task Group 382.
