Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations

This standard includes ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements and specifies additional aviation, space, and defense industry requirements, definitions, and notes. It is emphasized that the requirements specified in this standard are complementary (not alternative) to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. If there is a conflict between the requirements of this standard and customer or applicable statutory or regulatory requirements, the latter shall take precedence. Earned Value Management Systems

An Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for integrated program management will effectively integrate the work scope of a program with the schedule and cost elements for optimum program planning and control. The primary purpose of the system is to support integrated program management. The system is owned by the organization and is governed by the organization's policies and procedures. The principle of an EVMS are: Plan all work scope for the program to completion; Break down the program work scope into finite pieces that are assigned to a responsible person or organization for control of technical, schedule and cost objectives; Integrate program work scope, schedule, and cost objectives into a performance measurement baseline plan against which accomplishments are measured. Control changes to the baseline; Use actual costs incurred and recorded in accomplishing the work performed; Objectively assess accomplishments at the work performance level; Analyze significant variances from the plan, forecast impacts, and prepare an estimate at completion based on performance to date and the remaining work to be performed; Use the EVMS information in the organization's management processes.

This standard establishes the baseline requirements for performing and documenting FAI. Should there be a conflict between the requirements of this standard and applicable statutory or regulatory requirements, the applicable statutory or regulatory requirements shall take precedence.


SAE AS 9101F-2016

Quality Management Systems - Audit Requirements for Aviation, Space, and Defense Organizations

This standard defines requirements for the preparation and execution of the audit process. In addition, it defines the content and composition for the audit reporting of conformity and process effectiveness to the 9100-series standards, the organization's QMS documentation, and customer and statutory/regulatory requirements. The requirements in this standard are additions or represent changes to the requirements and guidelines in the standards for conformity assessment, auditing, and certification as published by ISO/IEC (i.e., ISO/IEC 17000, ISO/IEC 17021-1). When there is conflict with these standards, the requirements of the 9101 standard shall take precedence. NOTE 1: In this standard, the term ô9100-series standardsö comprises the following Aerospace Quality Management System (AQMS) standards: 9100, 9110, and 9120; developed by the IAQG and published by various national standards bodies. NOTE 2: In addition to this standard, the IAQG publishes deployment support material on the IAQG website (see http://www.sae.org/iaqg/) that can be used by audit teams, when executing the audit process.

Mechanical and Material Requirements for Externally Threaded Fasteners

This SAE Standard covers the mechanical and material requirements for inch-series steel bolts, screws, studs, screws for sems , and U-bolts in sizes to 1-1/2 in. inclusive. The term ΓÇ£studΓÇ¥ as referred to herein applies to a cylindrical rod of moderate length threaded on either one or both ends or throughout its entire length. It does not apply to headed, collared, or similar products which are more closely characterized by requirements shown herein for bolts. The mechanical properties included in Table 1 were compiled at an ambient temperature of approximately 20 ┬C (68 ┬F). These properties are valid within a temperature range which depends upon the material grade used and thermal and mechanical processing. Other properties such as fatigue behavior, corrosion resistance, impact properties, etc., are beyond the scope of this document and responsibility for ensuring the acceptability of the product for applications where conditions warrant consideration of these other properties shall be borne by the end user.

Configuration Management Standard

When effectively applied, Configuration Management (CM) provides a positive impact on product life cycle cost. This standard is intended to be used when establishing, performing, or evaluating CM processes. CM is a comprehensive process for maintaining consistency of any product's performance, functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information. The essence of CM, as portrayed in this standard, is the common sense application of CM functions and their underlying fundamental truths (principles), which have universal applicability across the broad spectrum of commerical and governmental enterprises around the globe. An understanding of not just what to do, by why, is necessary to tailor the applicaiton of CM functions. This standard fulfills an important function; it provides the rational basis upon whis to apply good jundgment in both planning for and excuting CM.


SAE J 514-2012 (SAE J514-2012)

Hydraulic Tube Fittings

This SAE Standard covers complete general and dimensional specifications for 37 degree flared and flareless types of hydraulic tube fittings and O-ring plugs. Also included are pipe fittings and adapter unions for use in conjunction with these tube fittings. These fittings are intended for general application in hydraulic systems on industrial equipment and commercial products.

These fittings are capable of providing leak-proof, full flow connections in hydraulic systems operating at working pressures as specified in Table 1 for respective sections.

Since many factors influence the pressure at which a hydraulic system will or will not perform satisfactorily, the values shown in SAE J1065 should not be construed as a guaranteed minimum.

For any application, it is recommended that sufficient testing be conducted and reviewed by both the user and fitting manufacturer to assure performance levels will be safe and satisfactory.

Counterfeit Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) Parts; Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation, and Disposition

This standard is for use by organizations that procure and/or integrate EEE parts and/or assemblies containing such items. The requirements of this standard are generic and intended to be applied/flowed down, as applicable, through the supply chain to all organizations that procure EEE parts and/or assemblies, regardless of type, size, and product provided. The mitigation of counterfeit EEE parts in this standard is risk-based and these mitigation steps will vary depending on the application, desired performance, and reliability of the equipment/hardware.

The requirements of this document are intended to supplement the requirements of a higher level quality standard (e.g., AS/EN/JISQ9100, ISO-9001, ANSI/ASQC E4, ASME NQA-1, AS9120, AS9003, and ISO/TS 16949 or equivalent) and other quality management system documents. They are not intended to stand alone, supersede, or cancel requirements found in other quality management system documents, requirements imposed by contracting authorities, or applicable laws and regulations unless an authorized exemption/variance has been obtained. This document is not intended to make a legal determination of fraud, and appropriate legal counsel should be consulted for further action.
