Synchronous Optical Network (SONET): Operations, Administration, Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAM&P) Communications - Protection Switching Fragment

The scope of this document is the management of linear protection switching for Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET), encompassing specification of the following: a) A set of SONET protection switching functions carried out across an Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) interface to a Network Element; b) A Management Information Model fragment to support these functions across an OSI interface. This standard is intended to be used in conjunction with the SONET OAM&P Communicatoins standard.
