Reciprocating internal combustion engines - Exhaust emission measurement - Part 3: Definitions and methods of measurement of exhaust gas smoke under steady-state conditions

Specifies two methods for the measurement of exhaust gas smoke characteristics of reciprocating internal combustion (RIC) engines operating under steady-state conditions. Does not deal with measurement under transient conditions. Applicable to RIC engines for land, rail-traction and marine use, including engines used to propel agricultural tractors and road vehicles.
