NFPA 45 Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals, 2015 edition

1.1 Scope. 1.1.1* This standard contains the minimum requirements for evaluating training for initial fire suppression and rescue procedures used by fire department personnel engaged in emergency scene operations. A.1.1.1 It is recognized that most successful emergency scene operations efforts involve a coordinated engine, ladder, and rescue company operation. When performing the evolutions included in this standard for the purpose of training, departments should use the number of personnel normally assigned to perform the initial operations at the scene of an emergency incident. 1.1.2 This standard specifies basic evolutions that can be adapted to local conditions and serves as a standard mechanism for the evaluation of minimum acceptable performance during training for initial fire suppression and rescue activities.
